Kualitas Air Sebagai Sumber Irigasi di Wilayah Bandung Timur

2018
Plants need water for the growth process. One of the uses of water is as an oxygen-carrying medium, but not all water can provide enough oxygen for the plant. Water utilization is still one of the obstacles and challenges in food security of rice commodities. The content contained in water can reflect the feasibility of the water. This study aims to determine the quality of irrigation water for paddy fields. The research was conducted on March 9, 2018 in Kelurahan Cimincrang Kecamatan Gedebage Kota Bandung with an altitude of 666 MASL and geographically located at 6°56'28" S and 107°42'16,5" E. The method used is survey method. Sampling using purposive sampling method from three points, namely in primary, secondary, and tertiary irrigation channels. Samples were investigated on the basis of dissolved oxygen using DO meters, electrical conductivity (DHL) using EC meter, and pH measurements using Universal pH. The results showed that primary, secondary, and tertiary irrigation water respectively had dissolved oxygen values of 6.5 mg/L, 4.8 mg/L, and 2.3 mg/L, with pH 7, 6, and 7 , and has electrical nductivity of 0.248 EC, 0.213 EC, and 0.364 EC. Water quality indicates sufficient dissolved oxygen availability, suitable pH, and DHL is good for rice plants. The quality of water is still considered good for irrigation water for paddy fields.
