SomeConsiderations onClinical Hyperthermia Based on theSoftHeating Method
1994
A study ofclinical hyperther¬ miabased on thesoftheating methodisde¬ scribed. A heating devicemade of temperature-sensitive Fe-P-C-Cr amorphous metalflakes was prepared andimplanted into an agarphantom andinvivo. We measured thetemperature distribution established in thephantom andtheheating characteristics invivo. Inan animal experiment, arabbit and a VX-2tumorwere used. TheVX-2tumor was transplanted intotherabbit's liver. The results oftheexperiment reveal thattheheat¬ ing device sufficiently heats thetumorwhen thetemperature reaches 43°Cunderblood flow. Thismethodhaspotential applications inaclinical context.
