Composition Analysis of Operating Insulator Contamination Based on Hyperspectral Imaging Technology

2019
Pollution flashover is still one of the main causes of power system faults, especially for outdoor insulators. More studies have shown that because of the differences of contamination composition and proportion, the flashover characteristics are different. Therefore, it is meaningful to find a portable and effective method to analysis the contamination composition on the surface of the online insulators in field test. Hyperspectral imaging technology is a new non-contact detection technique which contains three-dimensional spatial-spectral information. In this paper, hyperspectral imaging technology is used to distinguish the different compositions of contamination. The result of tests has shown that it is an effective method to realize the composition analysis of insulator contamination based on hyperspectral imaging technology through the fusion of spatial information and spectral information under laboratory conditions.
