Brennstoffzellen Bauart SOFC - Aufbau -Anwendung - technische Umsetzung und Prüfanforderungen. Diskussion

Since 1991 Sulzer HEXIS develops high temperature fuel cells from the SOFC type. Development is focused on residential application which means combined heat and power production (CHP) for single and multi family households. First field test systems are in operation since 1998 at different sites (e.g. Thyssengas, EWE Oldenburg). Reliability and performance of the systems were increased permanently. Up to now nearly 60000 hours of systems operation were performed at electrical efficiencies up to 40 %. For a first market entry phase a compact system was developed which supplies a maximum electrical power output of 1 kW and the complete heat demand of a household. This introduction phase will be done together with partners from the energy utility field. In parallel Sulzer HEXIS prepares for industrial production.
