Field meeting on the Corallian of Oxfordshire 16 May 1982

1983
Facies changes in the Corallian Group of Oxfordshire are examined. Shellingford Crossroads Quarry and Cothill Quarry show different developments of the lower parts of the Group, while Headington Crossroads Quarry and Wheatley Recreation Ground Quarry reveal facies changes in the upper parts of the group. On the basis of sedimentological evidence Callomon's (1960) correlation scheme for the sequences at Shellingford and Cothill is questioned. A revised interpretation, giving less weight to ammonite evidence, is proposed.
