After the Cold War new cases were included in the regulation of special legal orders in line with the changed security challenges. As a consequence of these challenges the missions of the Hungarian De-fence Forces also changed and simultaneously the reservist system was also transformed. In his study the author identifies the features along which the reservist system of the armed forces of the Cold War era transformed, compares it to the cases of special legal order in Hungary, and presents the use of reservists in such circumstances.
