Optical microrheology of liquid interfaces with rotating vaterite microparticles

Optically-rotated birefringent particles are used as a proof-of-principle scale-reduction of interfacial disk rheometers. We use this technique to measure the interfacial shear viscosity of surfactant monolayers at oil-water interfaces.
