Electrochemical techniques for monitoring dissolved carbon, hydrogen and oxygen in liquid sodium
1982
Abstract Potential chemical problems associated with the use of liquid sodium as a coolant for fast reactors have led to the need for special analytical techniques, in particular, for dissolved carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Consideration of the chemical monitoring requirements involved shows methods based on electrochemical cells to be particularly suitable. After a summary of the relevant background phenomena, the development and operational experience of specific electrochemical carbon, hydrogen and oxygen meters are described.
