Angular dependent magnetization studies of α-(BEDT-TTF)2KHg(SCN)4

1997
Abstract The Fermi surface of the charge transfer salt α-(BEDT-TTF) 2 KHg(SCN) 4 includes both quasi-one and quasi-two dimensional orbits. Below 8 K, the open orbits under go a Peierls-like transition. Here the angular dependent magnetoresistance exhibits periodic dips with tilt angle in constant magnetic field, where the period depends on the axis of rotation. This behavior has been interpreted as the result of open orbit sheets in the reconstructed Fermi surface. In angular dependent magnetic torque measurements we find no evidence for the periodic behavior seen in the magnetotransport data. We compare our results with studies an open orbit material.
