Resolution of 1-[3,5-Bis(trifluromethyl)phenyl] Ethanol Enantiomers by NP-HPLC with Chiral Chromatographic Column

Objective To separate and determine the enantiomers of 1-[3,5-bis(trif luromethyl)phenyl] ethanol. Methods The separation of the enantiomers of 1-[3,5-bis(trif luromethyl)phenyl] ethanol was achieved on a CHIRALPAK AD-3 column(0.46 cm×15 cm, 5 μm), utilizing a mobile phase consisting of n-hexane- isopropanol(200:1, v/v), the f low rate was 0.5 mL/min, with a column temperature of 25 ℃. Results The enantiomers were well separated by NP-HPLC, and the method is sensitive and conventient. The lowest concentration of detection is 0.2011 μg/mL, equivalent to 0.04 % of the concentration of test solution, and the test solution is stable in 12 h. Conclusion This method is simple and specif ic, and can be used to control the quality of the products effectively.
