Ability of the LIP Model to Simulate Variable Acquisition Conditions

2016
Abstract In this chapter, some detailed investigations are performed to show how the logarithmic image processing (LIP) tools are able to manage variable lighting conditions and simulate various exposure times. For this last application, we require only the studied image and its exposure time. An objective quality evaluation of this simulation is performed. In addition, we propose to apply these techniques to the acquisition of moving objects. Other simulations are addressed, such as diaphragm aperture, long exposure time, and binning.
