Time-resolved spectroscopy of a bromine ion beam
1989
Abstract Using a time-of-flight technique with a bromine ion beam directed across a helium gas jet, we have measured the decay characteristics of the most intense laser line of Br + at a wavelength of 518.24 nm and a weaker laser line at 505.46 nm. The radiative lifetimes of the upper levels of these transitions have been measured to be 8.3 ns (+ 4%, − 7%) and 7.8 ns (+ 7%, −10%), respectively.
