De-pegging seismic data
2012
Apparatus, computer instructions and method for de-pegging seismic data related to a subsurface of a body of water. The method includes receiving 900 recorded seismic data H, G, wherein the recorded seismic data is recorded with a receiver having at least three components. A three-dimensional (3D) gather is extracted from the recorded seismic data H, G and up-going and down-going components U, D are separated 902 from the 3D gather using a 3D calibration operator Gcal. De-pegged seismic data P is calculated 904 based on the up-going and down-going components U, D. The de-pegged seismic data P is calculated with no radon transform. The seismic data may comprise hydrophone data H and geophone data G. A 3D predictive deconvolution operator F0 may be used for calculating the de-pegged seismic data P such that both source-side and receiver-side peg-legs are removed from the seismic data H, G.
