Providing End-to-End Quality of Service in CDMA2000 Networks

2005
With the ever growing demand for varieties of multimedia services and cdma2000 networks' evolution to all-IP architecture, quality of service (QoS), which concerns users of networks deeply and ultimately exerts considerable impact on the commercialization of the cdma2000 system, is attracting more and more attention. Recently 3rd Generation partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) organization has issued a series of specifications to describe the requirements necessary to support QoS in cdma2000 wireless IP network. In this paper, we present the end-to-end QoS reference model and architecture advocated in 3GPP2 specifications based on reviewing of the concepts and definitions associated with QoS. In the course of presentation, we briefly narrate the related QoS provisioning mechanisms. Finally we propose a new end-to-end QoS provisioning framework
