ICP‐AES and FT‐IR Studies on the Effect of Cadmium on the Groundnut Cultivar

2008
Atomic emission and Infra Red spectroscopic techniques are utilized in the present investigations for the accurate estimation of the effect of Cadmium on groundnut plant. Descriptions on the effect of cadmium applied to soil, at varying concentrations regarding a change in the dry matter yield and other elemental concentrations are also provided. An attempt has been made to correlate the variations in the extinction co‐efficient (K) calculated for prominent lines in FT‐IR spectrum, with the changes in the essential organic contents of the groundnut plant. Results obtained by two spectroscopic techniques are analyzed and conclusions are drawn.
