A High Power Soft Switching Boost Converter for Fuel Cell Vehicle

Fuel cell vehicles are the emerging clean energy vehicle.In order to improve the efficiency of a high-power DC/DC converter for fuel cell vehicles and reduce its bulk and weight,a new soft switching Boost converter is proposed. The operation principle is analyzed and verified by experiments.The experimental results prove that the novel Boost converter has a simple and feasible structure with good performance,especially it is suitable for the high-power applications employing insulated gate bipolar transistors(IGBT),such as fuel cell vehicles,electric vehicles and uninterruptable power supply(UPS) systems.
