Analysis of the types of aminoglycoside-modifying genes of pseudomonas aeruginosa in Nanjing district

2007
Objective To investigate the types of aminoglycoside-modifying genes of P.aeruginosa in Nanjing district. Methods Clinical isolates of P.aeruginosa were collected from 2003 to 2005,and their resistances to gentamicin, amikacin and streptomycin were tested by K-B method.Fifty-six isolates were chosen because of their resistance to aminoglycoside antibiotics(at least resistant to one kind of the durgs).Six types of the aminoglycoside-modifying gene were detected by PCR.Results Drug resistant rates of 56 isolates of P.aeruginosa to gentamicin, amikacin and streptomycin were 51.8%,26.8% and 96.4%,respectively.The detection rates of the 6 AMEs,including aac(3)-Ⅱ,ant(2″)-Ⅰ,aac(6′)-Ⅱ,ant(3″)-Ⅰ,aac(6′)-Ⅰ and aac(3)-Ⅰ were 48.2%,48.2%,41.0%,17.8%,12% and 0%,respectively.The total detection rate of AMEs was 68.0%.Conclusion The resistance to aminoglycoside antibiotics of P.aeruginosa is mainly caused by aminoglycoside-modifying gene in Nanjing district.
