Millimeter-wave measurements of the electric field azimuthal profile in cylindrical open resonator [gyrotron]

1999
A study of the electrodynamics properties of a gyrotron resonator was experimentally conducted. Experiments were accomplished to measure resonant frequencies and their respective loaded quality factors for TE modes in the frequency range from 33 to 38 GHz. In particular, a perturbation technique was used for measuring the spatial characteristics of TE/sub 221/, TE/sub 021/, and TE/sub 611/ modes. In any experimental event, good agreement with the values predicted by theory was found.
