A Random Ergodic Method for Distributed Transmitting Coherent Combination

Inspired by the distributed coherent aperture radar, distributed transmitting coherent combination may be used to generate high energy density in a flexible way. In this letter, the requirements to achieve distributed transmitting coherent combination is analyzed, then the difficulty and importance of the phase consistency is figured out. A random ergodic method to achieve phase consistency for distributed transmitting coherent combination is proposed. Then, the simulation of the relationship between phase consistency error and combination efficiency is conducted. Based on the results, assignment of transmitters and irradiation time for each target could be set optimally in application.
