Reducing Microbending Losses in Glass Fiber-Packaged Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors for Wind Blades Monitoring

Microbending losses induced while packaging fiber Bragg grating sensors into glass-fiber composites are investigated. Their impact on the response of a series of packaged sensors is studied in a real-scale 71.5 m-long wind turbine blade.
