Optical properties of Y-Ba-Cu-O, an ellipsometric study

Abstract We have studied the optical properties of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 in the range 0.5 to 4.0 eV by spectrometric ellipsometry. The spectrum is characterized by a dominant parallel band like absorption at 0.5 eV with onsets of normal interband absorptions at 1.93 eV and 3.4 eV. These peaks show only weak shifts with temperature.
