DEVELOPMENT OF GROUND COILS FOR YAMANASHI MAGLEV TEST LINE

1996
In superconducting Maglev, ground coil is one of the most important equipment which determine the structure and characteristics of the Maglev system. At Yamanashi test line we adopted a null-flux levitation and double-layered propulsion coil system, which has been checked at Miyazaki test track. As for the durability of the ground coils, it is impossible to confirm it within the restricted test period of Yamanashi test line, so we are now carrying out bench tests. To reduce the coil's cost, single-layered propulsion coils are experimentally installed on a short section of Yamanashi test line, besides the development of a new coil-molding method.
