The CNO Scorecard: Refining the Focus

At the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, the Department of Nursing & Patient Care Services has been providing data to drive performance improvement for many decades. 1 The data must be presented in a manner that is actionable for those accountable for assuring positive outcomes. The organization is continually finding new and better ways to display and share data so that meaningful change can occur. This article describes how the display of data at the organization has been modified to provide accountability and focus.
