Simulation and measurement analysis of TGPR caused by GIS switchgear operation

During the operation of GIS disconnector, circuit breaker and other switchgear, VFTO will be produced. This kind of fast transient process will often cause GIS shell circulating current and transient earth potential rise, In order to study the mechanism of its potential rise, this paper studies the potential rise of a 220kV transformer. The transient ground potential rise caused by disconnector operation in GIS Substation is simulated and measured. By comparing the measured data with the simulation results, the distribution characteristics of TGPR in the substation are analyzed. It is found that the two results are consistent. The analysis results will provide some reference for the formulation of TGPR protection and suppression measures.
