The Watson Land Company: A 75th Anniversary Salute

2016
APRIL 30, 1987, a veteran Los Angeles firm, the Watson Land Company, celebrated the 75th anniversary of its incorporation. But the roots of the company date back much farther than three-quarters of a century, to the first land grant in southern California, issued by the Spanish military governor in 1784. The company takes its name from the inheritance of Maria Dolores Dominguez de Watson, one of the six daughters of Manuel Dominguez, patriarch of the Rancho San Pedro. The land has remained with the family through seven generations.
