Calibration and validation of SIMRIW in major rice production regions in China

2012
Many researches use crop models to simulate the impact of climate change to rice production. However crop models were developed for specific location and varieties. The uncertainties of simulation and prediction in rice production were not fully investigated at a large scale in major rice production regions of China. This study calibrated and validated SIMRIW model in the major rice production regions over China. The inner working of the model, as well as the simulated phenological response of rice, was compared in different regions. Results showed SIMRIW could well simulate rice phenology and yield in a single or double cropping system in different zones. Climate change and changing of transplanting date also impacted on rice phenology change.
