Sealing Performance of Plastics Vessel under Dielectric Barrier Discharge

Using dielectric barrier discharge in the detection of the sealing performance of the plastic vessels is a new non-contact leakage detection method. A simulation was carried out based on an equivalent circuit model of the high voltage power supply and its load, and a dielectric barrier discharge experiment was also carried out by validation of the leakage detection method. The results show that, the sealing fault of the plastic vessels occurs, and the intensity of the discharge is promoted. Meanwhile, because of the detuning resonance in the resonant circuit of the high voltage power supply, the high voltage and resonant current are decreased, and discharge current is increased. Consequently, the detection of the sealing performance of the plastic vessels can be realized by monitoring the variation of the resonant parameters of the resonant tank.
