Measurement of electron energy distribution from X-ray diagnostics: Foil techniques used with the hard X-ray camera on PBX-M

1997
Abstract A half-screen foil technique was used with the hard X-ray camera on the PBX-M tokamak to determine the energy distribution of the suprathermal electrons generated during the lower hybrid current drive. The ratio of perpendicular to parallel temperature of the suprathermal electrons was deduced from anisotropy of the bremsstrahlung emission utilizing Abel inversion techniques. Results from lower hybrid current drive discharges are discussed.
