Studies on change of aroma constituents in Rajangan tobacco during aging

Sun-cured tobacco shreds cut from different stalk positions were used to study and analyse the changes of aroma constituents during aging,the results indicated that the content of most aroma constituents increased after aging,and most of the major aromatic components occurred peak levels of content when aging to 10~15 months and then began to fall with the aging prolonged.Longer aging time was unfavourable to get high quality tobacco shreds.The proper aging time is suitable for 10 to 15 months.
