Material for aperture grill and production thereof

PURPOSE: To provide a material suitable for aperture grill by incorporating specific amounts of Cr, Mo, C, Si, Mn, P, S, 0, N, and Sol.Al. CONSTITUTION: The material has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.02- 0.6-3% Mn, ≤0.02% P, ≤0.015% S, ≤0.015% O, 0.003-0.01% N, ≤0.02% Sol.Al, and the balance essentially Fe and satisfying the relations in inequality I and equation II. A cold rolled steel sheet with this composition is annealed at a temp. in the recovery or recrystallization temp. region lower than the transformation point and formed to the prescribed sheet thickness by means of secondary cold rolling. By this method, the material causing no occurrence of color slurring due to deterioration of tension at the time of blackening treatment, free from the problems of defects and wire disorder caused by etching, and suitable for aperture grill can be provided.
