Oil rich Euphorbiaceae seeds with high contents of linoleic acid

Seed oils of Aleurites molucanna and Aleurites montance of Euphorbiaceae family have been studied and their fatty acid composition was determined using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Both the seeds contain high percentage (46.3% ; 48%) of oils. The chief components of both oils were palmitic (41.7% ; 27.9%) and linoleic (45 % ; 66.5 %) acids.
