Characterization and visible genetic profile of goats native to the state of Pernambuco

2006
The objective of this work was to make the phenotypic characterization of the remaining natives goat and to determine the profile of the breeding goats from the Countries of Ibimirim and Serra-Talhada/PE-Brazil. The qualitative traits morphologic (hair length, ear length; presence or absence: of horns, beard and wattles; and coat colour) of 6182 females were considered. The data of phenotypic origin had been ranks in one table of binary data and submitted for principal components analysis and correspondence analysis. The predominance of goats an undefined breed (SRD 77 percent) was observed and that 97 percent of the properties adopt the extensive breeding system. The breed that more has contributed for the dilution of the local flocks has been the Anglonubiana breed. The predominance of allele Wa+ with frequency of the 0.95 for both countries occurred. Allele Ho+ presented frequency of 0.97 and 0.88 in Ibimirim and Serra-Talhada respectively. Allele EL+ respectively presented frequency of 0.76 and 0.93 for Ibimirim and Serra-Talhada. For allele Brb it presented frequency of 0.55 and 0.32 and allele Hl+ 0.52 and 0.54 for Ibimirim and Serra_talhada respectively. In ibimirim, allele Roan presented frequencies of 0.37 for allele R. For Brown system, allele b presented frequencies of 0.30 and allele of locus agouti, 0.67. The multivariate analysis disclosed that the studied flocks present great variability in the phenotypes, however, the native breeds meet in sped up process of genetic dilution, had the lack of orientation in the repro-ductive handling.
