Automatic Evaluation of Flexible Electronic Bending Test

2021
The paper describes the development of software for automatic evaluation of bending test of flexible electronic and its implementation in the scientific evaluation of reliability of conductive layers deposited on the flexible substrates. The proposed software is a part of a developed device for automatic cyclic bending test combined with a continuous measurement of electrical resistance of tested samples. The developed hardware is designed for the linear bending test. The sensing of electrical resistance is achieved by two methods. The first method is based on the constant current approach, which in general means the 4-wire sensing method. The second approach is based on the voltage divider method where the strong voltage source and the exact resistance value of the series resistor are known. The second method is more suitable for a test where no certified constant current source is. The software part is implemented on the two sides of the measurement process. The measurement device is implemented by incorporation of the Atmel microprocessor ATmega328p which needs a firmware. The firmware is written in C programing language. The evaluation side is implemented in Matlab. Both software are mutually interfaced by the serial port.
