A Whole Slides Imaging System for Intelligent Microscope Based on Kalman Filter

Whole slides imaging (WSI) system plays an important role in the field of digital medical treatment. Current works are still facing the problems of speed and focus accuracy. Most recent WSI systems use hardware implementation methods to achieve high precision. This paper comes up with a kind of whole slides imaging strategy based on hardware-free method to complete rapid whole slides imaging. After searching the focal plane of tile, the method proposed predicts compensates of the platform error using Kalman filter. The results indicates that the system completes the scanning of 100 camera fields of vision within 8 minutes. Meantime the focusing accuracy reaches 90%. It is shown that the system proposed could work well under poor conditions.
