Study on Adaptive Extraction Method of Dominant Azimuth Seismic Data

2020
Summary In the fault development area, reservoir prediction applying seismic attribute and inversion cannot meet the prediction requirements always. To reduce the impact of faults on seismic waves and extract the reservoir dominant azimuth data is a subject that interpreters have been working on. Previous studies and production experiences have shown that the seismic waves perpendicular to faults strike are most affected by faults and sensitive to the faults; and the seismic waves parallel to faults strike are least affected by faults. Based on this conclusion, This paper proposed a method that the dominant azimuth seismic data for fault or reservoir are adaptively extracted point by point based on the data regularization in offset-azimuth domain on the basis of the azimuth-preserved migration processing of the “Wide-azimuth, broadband and high-density (WBH)” data.
