Network Analysis of the Yachting Enjoyment Culture

This study aimed to shed light on the yachting enjoyment culture by using big data. To attain this aim, it set the following study questions: First, what perspective and form of enjoyment do the public at large have on yachting? Second, what is the consideration for yachting to take root as the ultimate means for leisure? For the purpose of attaining its goal, this study conducted an analysis of network keywords by using the text data left in the Internet portal site. As a result, the following findings were found: First, it was found that yachting functioned and was understood as the major means for tourism by the public at large. Second, it was found that yachting was understood as the activity of ‘personal experience’ taking on a strong one-time and one-off character by the public at large. Third, yachting had a strong tendency to be understood as ‘tourism’ and ‘personal experience’ by the public at large, but they also made a sports approach to yachting to some extent. Fourth, yachting needs the given place as its base by the nature that the yacht should exist on water. In this study, it was found that the marina of the Suyeong Bay, Busan among several places had a particular meaning.
