Equipment strengthening and other improving measures for tracks of East Japan Railway Company

East started the challenge with the slogan "JR East Vision 2020 -idom-" since March 2008, to face the changing management environments and to secure future growth. In the track maintenance fields, such development measures as strengthening equipment, utilizing machines for works and inspecting through tools, have been taken to improve safety and reliability and to have better work systems. Some of them are described in this paper.
