Poly (MPC-co-SMA) for high performance carrier ingredients

2005
This study is about the effectiveness of a new cosmetic raw material called Lipidure-NR, Lipidure-NA, which mainly consists of random copolymers of 2-methacryloxyethylphosphorylcholin (MPC) and stearyl methacrylate (SMA).When determining the frictional electrical tension of damaged hair that was treated with Lipidure-NA, it was found that Lipidure-NA well prevented electrification of the hair. Moreover, when observing the Lipidure-NA treated hair under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) for its surface conditions and wetness, it was confirmed that Lipidure-NA repaired the hair to almost the healthy condition by changing the hydrophobic surface of the damaged hair into hydrophilic, protecting the damaged hair from lift ups of cuticles, and giving smoothness to the surface. When treating damaged hair with Lipidure-NA that contained fat-soluble fluorescence and observing it under a fluorescent microscope, it was found that fluorescence was retained even after the ahir was washed. It was also confirmed that poly (MPC-co-SMA) was the most effective in reducing the cytotoxicity of sodium dodecyl sulfate (5DS) when culturing cells in media that contained SDS, which is a widely used surfactant, and each kind of lipidure and counting the number of living cells (Neutral Red Bio-assay Method). Closed Human Patch Tests showed that Lipidure-NR greatly reduces irritation to the skin.
