An ArduinoBLE based Digital Holter for Thai Ambulatory and Personal Healthcare

2021
Cardiac pathology is one of major causes that silently threatens well-being. Heart syndromes may not exhibit prominently and apt to be hidden in daily activities. Especially, Thai people with cardiovascular diseases need effective devices with an intelligent system to perform a self-assessment. Therefore, we developed an electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring device which is able to send data over Bluetooth through an Android application. The application can effectively measure and collect ECG data, then display an electrocardiograph. We conducted experiments for testing the performance of our proposed and used several parameters to evaluate: correlation coefficient, calculation heart rate system, and tested with volunteers. The experimental results show correlation coefficients above 0.99 between the vital signs simulator and our device. The heart rate calculated from the ECG simulator at the normal rates of 60, 80, and 100 bpm shows the accuracy of 100, 80, and 80 percent, respectively. The experiment results of our developed system also show a signal quality in the volunteers while sitting is higher than walking. These results prove that our system is promising results and can be used in the next phase of our research targeted ambulatory monitoring and personnel healthcare for Thai people in the future.
