Microstructual and Characteristics Comparison Between Tl-System and Bi-System Oxide Superconducting Tapes

A comparative study was carried out among Tl-2223, Tl-1223 and Bi-2223 tapes fabricated by the most feasible methods for long wires. The Tl-1223 tape had excellent pinnings under high magnetic field of 5T, but Jc of the tape degrades under low field of 0.5T, which was caused by lack of electrical coupling of the crystal grains. The Bi-2223 tape showed the same properties as the material with less pinnings but with good electrical couplings.
