El resultado del proceso de envejecimiento, se llame como se llame, es siempre algo negativo

espanolCon objeto de conocer como se viven los procesos de envejecimiento en nuestra sociedad, se llevo a cabo una investigacion cualitativa basada, principalmente, en entrevistas abiertas a person as mayores de diferentes edades. Presentamos, en esta ocasion, algunas de las evidencias cientificas del trabajo: acercarse a este colectivo es una tarea ardua porque ni siquiera es facil encontrar un nombre apropiado con el que denominarlo y que sea aceptado por todos ; se lla me como se llame a este proceso o etapa vital , siempre resulta ser algo negativo y asi lo ven nuestro interlocutores ; nadie quiere pertenecer , ni dice sentirse parte de este colectivo, en otras palabras, en sus explicac iones, los viejos son, casi siempre, “los otros ”; y la cultura corporal hegemonica (e. g., el ideal de la juventud) en nuestro contexto socio -cultural influye directamente en la forma de experimentar el proceso de convertirse en personas mayores, de ahi la necesidad de comprenderlo EnglishIn order to know how the processes of aging in our society are lived, a qualitative research was carried out based, mainly, on open interviews to elderly people of different ages. We present, on this occasion, some of the scientific evidences of the study : It is not easy to approach the collective because it is not even possible to find an appropriate name , accepted by everybody ; w hatever this process / stage is called, it always turns out to be something negative , and that’s the view of the participants in the study; nobody wants to belong or feel part of this collective, that is, in their explanations, the elders are (almost) always the others; and hegemonic body culture (e.g., the youth ideal) in our socio -cultural context directly influences the way of experiencing the process of becoming elderly, hence the need to understand it to reflect on the role that education professionals play in this regar
