Mu Synthesis Robust Control on Regenerative Braking of Hybrid Power System Electric Vehicle

2013
The μ synthesis robust controllers for hybrid-power EV are developed to ensure the robustness of closed-loop system under the influence of uncertainties, such as the parameter perturbation and the unmodeled dynamics, and to minimize the effect of the disturbances, such as the variation of the battery and ultra capacity voltage, the road state, and the driving mode of vehicle. The simulated and experimental results show that the proposed control system of hybrid-power EV is able to avoid battery mangling by the big current during the braking, and recover more energy during the regenerative braking process. In addition, compared with traditional PID controller, μ synthesis robust controller has better performance at response speed, steady-state tracking error and anti-interference, and can recover more energy during the regenerative-braking process, enhance the operating efficiency.
