The article investigates the content and developmen t of creative and innovative potential for future managers in the course of thei r training. The concept of "creative and innovative potential" (CIP) in the co ntext of the manager’s activity was theoretically grounded and empirically tested as two factors model for creative and innovative potential of managers. The types and levels of creative and innovative potential were characterized. The peculiarity of the manager is that he/she has t o be creative personality, not least that he was aware of the support in subordina tes work and had competence to manage creative and innovative potential of the org anization. Creative and innovative potential is considered as a multicomponent system of per sonal characteristics, knowledge and skills of a manager including two factors: the "C"- factor integrates the ability to generate original ideas, the creation of innovative ideas and products; "I"-factor integrates the abili ty to accept and implement innovations. The formation level for each factor was assessed as low, medium or high by test for divergent thinking and methods on overall creativity. The combinations of the levels for each factor allowed to determine and describe its seven types. The study involved 116 full-time students of Poltav a University of Economics and Trade. The results of empirical research found that 38.8% of students ha d high or above the average level of CIP; 26.7% of students were with low and lower than the average level of CIP. This requires to intensif y the process of their training towards gaining experience in creativity and in dee p and profound development of their creative and innovative potential.
