Impact of WSS passband narrowing effect on the capacity of the flexible-spectrum networks

We show that the WSS passband shape needs to be optimized to the 3.6 th and 3.2 th Super-Gaussian orders in BT-UK and PAN-Europe networks, respectively, for realizing the 30% capacity increase promised by the flexible-spectrum standard.
