The proportionate benefits for the irrigation to the plants have been systematically proven, however some modifications in the chemical and physical characteristics of the ground, affecting them of "negative" form. These modifications are mentioned by some researchers, portraying the impact of the rain drops on the losses of ground, either for the disaggregate effect in the ground or to intensify the eluviations of mineral ground particles, mainly of diameters minors. With base in this approach, was analyzed, in this work, the effect of the irrigation in the alterations of the chemical and physical characteristics of the one Red Latossolo Distroferrico and in the development of the culture of the wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The results had allowed the following conclusions: the water supply for the irrigation promoted the degradation fastest of the organic substance of the ground in relation to the treatments of dry land;
