Aminopyralid: new post-emergence cereal herbicide [Triticum aestivum L.; Triticum durum Desf.; Italy]

2006
Aminopyralid is a new systemic post-emergence herbicide member of pyridine carboxylic acid herbicide chemical family. The active ingredient, absorbed rapidly by the leaves and roots, has an activity typical for auxinic mode-of-action that disrupts the plant growth process in the dicotyledonous susceptible plants. The experiments, carried out in Italy in the main cereal-growing areas from 2002 to 2005, have demonstrated that aminopyralid + florasulam mixture applied at 10 + 5 g a.i./ha has a high activity against the most important broad leaf weeds and excellent selectivity on Winter cereals. The mixture can be applied from the three-leaf stage (BBCH 13) up to one node stage of the crop (BBCH 31) and constitutes an effective alternative in case of acetolactate synthase enzyme (ALS) resistant weeds. Aminopyralid will be formulated in combination with florasulam as water dispersible granules (WG) containing 300 + 150 g a.i./kg for use in Winter cereals
