EMC Qualification Processes from standards to Test Report in Automotive Industry

2019
One of the stages of developing a product in automotive is its qualification. The purpose of a qualification is to check whether the product proposed for qualification is eligible to reach the field, if it meets the requirements of quality, reliability and performance required by customers using various international standards. This paper presents a brief of the EMC testing procedure used in the automotive industry. As an example, an ESD testing procedure is related, taking into account the specifications and limits of the regulated standards. The results obtained from the test implementation reports must be viable and support the functionality of the equipment as an individual mode but also as a component of a more complex assembly, such as the car.
