In summary, the invention relates to a junction box (7) for a solar module (3), comprising: - a first and second electrical connection pole (19, 21), - at least three electrical contact means (13a, 13b, 13c), each of said at least three electrical contact means (13a, 13b, 13c) with an associated electrical conductors (5a, 5b, 5c) of the solar module (3) is contactable, - at least two bypass diodes (25a, 25b) and - at least one overvoltage protection diode (27), wherein the first of the at least two bypass diodes (25a) of the first contact means (13a) with the second contact means (13b) and the second of the at least two bypass diodes (25b), the second contact means (13b) to the third contact means (13c) electrically connecting and wherein the at least one overvoltage protection diode (27; 27a, 27b, 27c) (25a, 25b) is parallel to at least one of the bypass diode connected, as well as a solar panel and a method.
