La asistencia de dirección: una labor invisible en la realización de un proyecto cinematográfico

2019
This essay reflects upon the complexity and importance of the job of the first assistant director (AD), a position inside the art of filmmaking that is invisible to the eye through the screen, and that it is commonly underestimated. In spite of being on the top of the crew hierarchy, along with the director and producer, an encreasingnumber amongst the crews do not actually know what this position involves, which causes this role to be simply omitted or confused with a assistant of producer or even a script. Through testimonies and the proper analysis inside the growing ecuadorian film industry, this role will be outlined, proving that in spite of not showing itself vividly, it is the pillar of the logistics of shooting a film.
