Survey of Toxoplasma gondii infection in lung cancer patients.

Aim To survey Toxoplasma gondii infection in lung cancer patients.Methods Specific IgG and IgM to Toxoplasma gondii were detected by using ELISA among 63 lung cancer patients and 293 other respiratory patients.Results Among 63 lung cancer patients,the Tox-IgM positive rate was 20.63%(13/63),and the Tox-IgG positive rate was 17.46%(11/63).Among 293 other respiratory patients,the Tox-IgM positive rate was 3.41%(10/293),and the Tox-IgG positive rate was 7.85%(23/293).showing significant difference between these two groups(P0.01,P0.05).The male ToxIgM positive rate was 20.00%(8/40),Tox-IgG positive rate was 17.50%(7/40),and the female Tox-IgM positive rate was 21.74%(5/23),Tox-IgG positive rate was 17.39%(4/23),without significant difference between two genders(P0.05).Conclusion The infection rate of Toxoplasma gondii in lung cancer patients'is obviously higher.
